Another life? "Yeah, yeah,yeah...."
Seems like Gaudi and Niki De saint-Phalle had some similar ideas as Thompson.
I haven't heard the "Plateaux..." but your recommendation and the title alone drives me to it. merci....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19189721.post-48498289344963955262007-03-01T10:43:00.000-08:002007-03-01T10:43:00.000-08:00How I would've loved to have been there on May 16,...How I would've loved to have been there on May 16, 1903 to have seen the gates of Luna Park open. Of course if I'd actually been alive back then I wouldn't be here posting so I take back what I just said above. ;-)

Fascinating words about straight lines from Frederic Thompson and I must say that this is a man after my own heart. I've only read the giant hardback reissues of Little Nemo. Good stuff I thought...

Liked your Harold Budd comment as well. He and Eno collaborated on the gorgeous Plateaux of Mirror which I've always adored.

One of your finest posts yet with such beautiful imagery evoked by your words!persephone2uhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13107746916879637272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19189721.post-72381298279210664732007-01-31T20:49:00.000-08:002007-01-31T20:49:00.000-08:00yeah, i HATE it when that happens....yeah, i HATE it when that happens....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19189721.post-89102286822384717732007-01-31T13:40:00.000-08:002007-01-31T13:40:00.000-08:00my secret knowledge is eating alive my soul. i bu...my secret knowledge is eating alive my soul. i burn like the incandescent transcendence of the lunar metropolis. soon, i too must disappear into the wilderness to feast on lost licorice root and the silver apples.

MHCminorAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19189721.post-14906340498572603542007-01-25T18:36:00.000-08:002007-01-25T18:36:00.000-08:00I try to come on as a Hell's Angel but i always ge...I try to come on as a Hell's Angel but i always get my feckin leather jacket zipper stuck on some wadded- up message to myself...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19189721.post-52071430653227419552007-01-25T18:22:00.000-08:002007-01-25T18:22:00.000-08:00clohessy, how do you show your face in certain cir...clohessy, how do you show your face in certain circles???
licorice (the dreamy brown-haired fantasy of the pisces adolescent) to the phantom city (always out-of-reach)to the indescribable tone of that one particular horn player...
the constant struggle of keeping the feet actually planted on solid air...er, ahh, i meant to say....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19189721.post-87364848056947292532007-01-24T20:53:00.000-08:002007-01-24T20:53:00.000-08:00I guess i've tossed a lot of mushballs in my pitch...I guess i've tossed a lot of mushballs in my pitching career.
